Comma-separated values is the simplest way to move a table between programs. Each line is a row, and quotes protect values that contain commas or line breaks. CSV has no formulas, formatting or multiple sheets, which is exactly why databases, CRMs, accounting tools and data scripts all import it.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Most surprises come from the CSV's header row or structure.

The first row is used as keys. Make sure the CSV starts with a header row, not a title or blank line.

Give every column a unique header so no values are overwritten.

Every object repeats the key names, so JSON is larger than CSV. That is normal.

Save the CSV as UTF-8 in your spreadsheet app and convert again.

Blank lines at the end of the CSV can create empty entries. Remove them before converting.

Open the CSV in a text editor to check it really is comma-separated text.
