HOW IT WORKS

Convert SRW to JPG in three steps

Three steps, no account, nothing to install.

01

Upload your SRW files

Drag in SRW photos from your NX camera's card or an old photo backup. You can add a whole shoot at once.

02

Convert to JPG

Start the conversion. Each RAW file is developed with LibRaw, an open-source RAW decoder used by many photo apps, and saved as JPG.

03

Download the JPG files

Download each JPG as it finishes or the whole set as one ZIP. Your original SRW files stay untouched on your device.

SRW

SRW is Samsung's RAW format from the NX camera line, which Samsung discontinued in 2015.

JPG

JPG is the most widely supported photo format, with lossy compression that keeps files small.

FILE FORMATS

SRW and JPG compared

SOURCE

SRW

Samsung RAW files come from the NX series, including the NX1, NX500, NX300 and NX30, plus a few compacts such as the EX2F. Samsung left the camera market, its RAW converter is no longer updated, and newer editing apps don't always list SRW support. That makes old SRW archives one of the harder RAW formats to open today.

TARGET

JPG

The format every phone, browser, printer kiosk and social site accepts. JPG compresses photos by discarding detail the eye is unlikely to notice, so a 24 MP picture fits in a few megabytes. It has no transparency and only 8 bits per color channel, and every re-save loses a little more quality.

SUPPORTED FILES

Which SRW Files Can I Convert?

SRW files from Samsung's NX system and RAW-capable compacts are supported.

NX flagship bodies

NX1, NX500 and NX30 SRW files convert directly.

Other NX models

NX300, NX3000, NX2000, NX1000, NX200, NX100, NX11, NX10 and NX mini files convert too.

Samsung compacts

RAW-capable compacts such as the EX2F and WB2000 also wrote SRW.

Samsung phone RAW

Galaxy phones save RAW as DNG, not SRW. Use our DNG to JPG converter for those.

A whole archive

Upload a folder of SRW files and download the JPGs together as a ZIP.

TROUBLESHOOTING

SRW Photo Not Looking Right?

These explain most of the differences you may notice.

01

The colors don't match the camera's preview

The camera screen shows a JPEG made with your Picture Wizard setting. The JPG is developed without it, so tweak color and contrast in any photo editor if you want that look back.

02

The photo looks flat or a little dark

RAW files are developed with neutral contrast so no highlight or shadow detail is thrown away. Add contrast or brightness in an editor, or edit the SRW in a RAW editor if you need precise control.

03

My Lightroom edits are missing

Edits live in your editor's catalog or an .xmp sidecar file, not in the SRW. Export from that editor to get the edited version.

04

It says the file is damaged

This usually means the SRW was cut off while copying from the card. Copy it again from the original card or backup. A file that opens as a tiny preview in other apps is often incomplete too.

05

Old files won't open from a CD or DVD backup

Optical discs degrade over time. If a file fails, try another copy or recover the disc first, then upload the SRW again.

06

Lens corrections are missing

Samsung applied lens corrections in the camera's JPEG. A RAW editor with a lens profile can correct distortion and vignetting.
