HOW IT WORKS

Convert PSD to JPG in three steps

Three steps, no account, nothing to install.

01

Upload your PSD files

Drag in .psd documents from Photoshop or another editor.

02

Convert to JPG

Start the conversion. The flattened image stored in the PSD is saved as a JPG.

03

Download the JPG

Download each JPG, or several together as one ZIP.

PSD

PSD is Photoshop's native document format, keeping layers, masks, text and effects for further editing.

JPG

JPG is the most widely supported photo format, with lossy compression that keeps files small.

FILE FORMATS

PSD and JPG compared

SOURCE

PSD

Photoshop Document files hold everything an editor needs: layers, adjustment layers, masks, editable text, smart objects and layer effects. When saved with Maximize Compatibility, they also store a flattened copy of the final image. Outside Photoshop and a few editors, PSD files can't be previewed or uploaded.

TARGET

JPG

The format every phone, browser, printer kiosk and social site accepts. JPG compresses photos by discarding detail the eye is unlikely to notice, so a 24 MP picture fits in a few megabytes. It has no transparency and only 8 bits per color channel, and every re-save loses a little more quality.

SUPPORTED FILES

Which PSD Files Can I Convert?

PSD files saved by Photoshop and other editors are supported.

PSD with Maximize Compatibility

Uses the flattened image Photoshop stores, so the result matches what you see.

8 and 16-bit PSD

Converted to a standard JPG.

Layered artwork

All visible layers appear in the flattened JPG.

PSD from other apps

Files saved by Affinity Photo, GIMP, Krita and Photopea.

A batch

Upload several PSDs and download the JPG files as a ZIP.

TROUBLESHOOTING

JPG Not Looking Right?

PSDs store layers and a preview, which explains most differences.

01

Effects or adjustment layers are missing

The file was probably saved without Maximize Compatibility, so it has no flattened image. Re-save it in Photoshop with that option turned on.

02

Hidden layers didn't appear

Only what's visible in the document goes into the JPG.

03

Text looks different

The stored flattened image is used, so fonts don't need to be installed. If text looks wrong, the PSD's preview was out of date; re-save it.

04

Colors look different

CMYK and wide-gamut documents are converted for the JPG. Convert to sRGB in Photoshop for the closest match.

05

Transparent areas became solid

JPG has no transparency. Use PSD to PNG to keep it.

06

Still not working

Check the PSD opens in Photoshop. A damaged file can't be converted.
