OXPS
OXPS is the standardized form of XPS that Windows 8 and later save when you print to the XPS Document Writer.
PDF is the universal fixed-layout document format that looks the same on every screen and printer.
FILE FORMATS

OpenXPS was standardized as ECMA-388 in 2009, and Windows 8, 10 and 11 save it whenever you print to the Microsoft XPS Document Writer. It is close to XPS but not identical, so older XPS viewers and Windows 7 can't always open it. Outside Windows, almost nothing reads OXPS.
TARGET
Adobe introduced the Portable Document Format in 1993, and it has been an open ISO standard since 2008. A PDF fixes text, fonts, images and vector graphics onto pages, so a document prints and displays exactly as intended on any device. It is the default for sharing, printing, signing and archiving.

The page may have been empty in the original print job. Open the XPS on Windows to compare.

Rare XPS effects, such as certain gradients or transparency, can render more simply in PDF.

Each PDF page uses the page size from the XPS. Mixed sizes stay mixed.

Damaged or incomplete XPS files can't be read. Print or save the document again.
