M4V
M4V is Apple's variant of MP4, used by the iTunes Store, by HandBrake and by older QuickTime and iTunes exports. It usually holds H.264 video with AAC and sometimes Dolby Digital sound, chapters and subtitles. Videos bought or rented from the iTunes Store are protected with Apple's FairPlay DRM. Raw MPEG-4 video streams also use the .m4v extension.
