HOW IT WORKS

Convert HTML to PDF in three steps

Three steps, no account, nothing to install.

01

Upload your HTML file

Drag and drop or upload a saved .html page, up to 10 MB. Pictures show only when they are stored in the file, as embedded data or in a browser web archive (.mhtml) renamed to end in .html.

02

Convert to PDF

Keep PDF as the output format and start the conversion. Scripts and anything linked from the web are removed, and the page is laid out on A4.

03

Download the PDF

Download one PDF per HTML file, with selectable text.

HTML

HTML is the markup language of web pages. A saved .html file holds the page's text, structure and styles, but usually only links to its pictures, stylesheets and scripts, which live in separate files or on the web.

PDF

PDF is a fixed-layout document format designed to preserve page appearance across devices and operating systems. It is widely used for reports, forms, manuals, invoices, and files intended for sharing or printing.

SOURCE

HTML

HyperText Markup Language structures every web page. An HTML file marks text as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, tables and images, and any browser displays it without extra software. It is also what blogs, CMS editors, email builders and help-desk tools paste or import.

TARGET

PDF

Adobe introduced the Portable Document Format in 1993, and it has been an open ISO standard since 2008. A PDF fixes text, fonts, images and vector graphics onto pages, so a document prints and displays exactly as intended on any device. It is the default for sharing, printing, signing and archiving.

USE CASES

Use Cases for HTML to PDF

Practical workflows where HTML to PDF conversion is useful.

logo

Share an HTML report

Test runners, analytics tools and scripts often write their reports as HTML files. Convert one to send it as a PDF.

logo

Keep an HTML invoice or receipt

Order confirmations and invoices saved as .html become A4 PDFs for your records.

logo

Print a wide data table

A table too wide for an upright page gets a landscape or larger page, so every column stays on the page.

logo

Archive a saved web page

Keep a PDF of a page saved from your browser as a web archive (.mhtml), with the pictures stored inside it. Rename the file to end in .html before you upload it.

logo

Read documentation offline

Turn an HTML help page or manual into a PDF that readers can open without a connection.

logo

Open an HTML attachment safely

Scripts, iframes and remote content are removed and nothing is fetched from the web, so an HTML file from an unknown sender can be read as a PDF.

logo

Print notes exported from an app

Notes apps and wikis export pages as HTML. Convert them to A4 PDFs to print or attach.

logo

Send a letter generated as HTML

Letters and forms that a web app produces as HTML become PDFs you can attach to an email.

logo

Print long text pages

Licences, terms and policies saved as HTML run over as many A4 pages as they need.

logo

Read a page saved in an older encoding

Pages without a declared character set are read as UTF-8 or their older encoding is detected, so accented and Cyrillic text comes out readable.

SUPPORTED FILES

Which HTML Files Can I Convert?

Saved web pages and HTML documents are supported.

Saved web pages

Pages saved from a browser as HTML.

HTML reports and exports

Reports generated by apps and scripts.

HTML emails

Newsletters and receipts saved as .html.

Pages with tables

Tables are kept in the PDF.

A batch

Upload several HTML files and download the PDFs as a ZIP.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PDF Not Looking Like the Web Page?

Most differences come from fonts and features the target format handles differently.

01

A font looks different

The document is laid out by LibreOffice, and fonts the server doesn't have are replaced with similar ones. Embed fonts in the original to avoid this.

02

It says the file is password-protected

Open the file, save a copy without a password and upload that copy.

03

It says the file is damaged

A cut-off or broken upload can't be read. Download or copy the original again.

04

The layout looks plainer than in a browser

The page is laid out by LibreOffice, not a browser, so complex CSS such as grids and flexbox is simplified.

05

Images are missing

Pictures linked from other files or websites aren't fetched. Embed them as data URIs or use a browser's Print to PDF.

06

Scripts didn't run

JavaScript never runs, so content built by scripts doesn't appear.
